Shelley Todd is a graduate of West Dean College with a specialized focus on retail, wellness design, and biophilic spaces which foster a deep connection between people and nature for enhanced wellbeing. Driven by the desire to create both commercial and residential environments that are meaningful and purposeful, Shelley brings a unique perspective to every project. Having previously worked as a graphic designer, she has a refined appreciation for colour, surface pattern, form, material selection, and lighting.

Shelley's design philosophy is research-driven and detail-oriented, marked by a dedication to empathy and emotional connection. For her, emotional design is paramount—interior spaces should not only be visually engaging but should evoke emotions and sensations that enrich the user’s experience. By listening attentively to clients, Shelley creates environments that make people feel more connected, warmer and joyful, whether in commercial or residential settings.

Through the careful manipulation of colour, light, shadow, materials and spatial volumes, she creates atmospheres that communicate specific emotions. An essential part of her approach is the study of spatial distribution and circulation, ensuring that rooms are not only functional but also cultivate positive sensations. Above all, Shelley seeks to reintroduce nature into environments where this connection is often lost—such as in urban offices, commercial buildings, and public spaces. This biophilic design reduces stress, enhances productivity, and stimulates creativity, helping people reconnect with the natural world.
